This is LONG overdue, but I got wrapped up in the whirlwind of everything. As you all may know, October 1st, Joe returned home. And on October 1st, he said yes.
I wanted to have this long romantic story for you all, and I even thought about recording it, but as public as this proposal plan was, I wanted it to be personal. I hope you all don’t feel disappointed. I brought him to the door, and explained that while he was away, I did some soul searching, and figured out one thing. I don’t honestly remember exact details. I was nervous, not because I wasn’t sure of his answer, but because this was the first step to the rest of my life. He opened the door and looked around, not really clear of anything, and he left me on one knee for what felt like an eternity. Ha. But he said yes, and we embraced, and it was just as I hoped it would be.
We’ve spent the last two weeks just acclimating to living together again, and enjoying each other’s company. Our cats have battled to civility and our home is complete. I want you all to know that this could not have been possible without you. All of your dedication, and artistic ability, and kind words of encouragement, none has gone unrecognized.
I will do a video update with BOTH of us very soon, but I left you guys hanging for so long, and I felt guilty. So thank you! THANK YOU! Every time I hold his hand and feel the ring, I think of this project. So know you have left an impact on our lives!!!! ♥
A lot going on here, possibly the last haul. Thanks to my little sister Britt (wooden postcard is awesome, and there are no others like it.), thanks to my Nana for her card from Florida, one from my dear old friend Ashlee(wehehehehehehe) on her card from York, three more from my Mama, one from my bestie Brenton (he’s the card that says Life Can Be Two Cucumbers, always creative that one), a postcard from Virginia, and one from NM, with a beautifully done envelope that is killing me to know what is inside. THANKS GUYS!!! TEN DAYS!!!
If you haven’t sent something, I’m sorry, but I want to make sure that this remains a surprise, AKA no postcards hanging out as he walks in the door!
If you helped in any way, whether sending something, or reblogging, or just sending words of encouragement, THANK YOU! The kindness of strangers has prevailed and I’m super stoked for his return! THANK YOU!!!!
Now that everyone is paying attention, don’t forget to check out this etsy shop where I bought our rings. The craftsmanship on these rings is outstanding, and I want to highly recommend them! The lat/long is customized, so make it your own!
